Four Free Things

The apartment upon which we will be having coffee.
(Photo by B. Snow is long gone.)
Four Free Things is a (mostly) weekly feature here on The Green Gazelle. Each Friday, I share four free or almost free things I plan to do over the weekend. I invite you to share your free things in the comments section of this post.

1. COFFEE ON THE APARTMENT—FINALLY!
For one reason or another, Coffee On hasn't worked out yet. This weekend, though, my lovely in-laws are coming for a visit. They will be the first to have coffee on the apartment with us, which is really how it should be anyway.

2. A visit to the botanical gardens
It's hard to believe this is free, but it really is. The local university has botanical gardens that are open to the public. My mom-in-law enjoys a good botanical garden, so we'll have to be sure to experience them this weekend.

3. Take the downtown history tour
My new city is so cool that it has a free self-guided downtown history tour. Boom.

4. Sign up to be a working member at the food co-op
Our local co-op has a working member program. For each hour you volunteer your labor for the store, you get a 15% off coupon! What a deal! This will be a fun way to meet people, get to know my co-op better, and save money on my oversized grocery bill. Yee haw!

What are you up to this weekend?
